Welcome to the Queen's Head Pub in Shropshire
|
|
Situated close to the Welsh border in the Shropshire town of Oswestry, the Queen’s Head offers an excellent opportunity for visitors to the area to enjoy some Shropshire fine dining in a classic Shropshire restaurant and pub. Oswestry has a long and illustrious history and has served as a strategic border town throughout the ages.

The combination of Welsh and English cultural history is evident in the town’s street names and places. Once an important market town, the Wednesday market ran in Oswestry town centre for nearly 800 years. A commemorative statue of a shepherd and sheep today marks the spot.
Oswestry’s notable agricultural heritage continues today, with produce from the area incorporated in many fine dishes served in the Queen’s Head Restaurant.
There are many and varied Shropshire restaurants, but the Queen’s Head offers a traditional flavour in both the quality and presentation of the food and in the relaxed country inn ambience which never fails to delight tourists and visitors to the area. Our restaurant extends into a conservatory seating area, enhancing the natural dining environment.

The town of Oswestry has many notable features, such as St. Oswald’s Parish Church, nearing its 1000th birthday, and nearby Whittington Castle, but often what the town is famous for is the high number of pubs, given the population of the town. Real ale is common in many of the Shropshire pubs and the Queen’s Head is no exception.
Complemented also with contemporary beer and lager favourites, and a selection of fine wines and spirits, The Bar at the Queen’s Head is the perfect place in which to relax and regale your Shropshire activities, and to plan some new ones. You can enjoy the good weather in our outdoor seating area too.
For Shropshire fine dining in a well established and relaxing Shropshire restaurant environment, it is hard to beat the Queen’s Head, and if your thirst demands the best of a Shropshire pub then we can provide that too and the Queen’s Head, Oswestry.
